“To be entrusted with the teaching of the young is a great gift and grace of God.”

– St. John the Baptist de La Salle

At the De La Salle Educational Center in Cypress, Texas,
Our service to youth is captured by the phrase:
We help our youth:
the Vietnamese and Christian Heritage (culture).
their family, community and country, especially the poor.
their peers, and develop the leadership skills needed for present and future community building.
Of particular importance is our call to carry out the Mission established by its founder, Saint John Baptist De La Salle, over three hundred years ago:
“to give a human and Christian education to the young, especially the poor.”

The De La Salle Vietnamese School is located in Cypress, Texas and serves the greater Houston Area Vietnamese population by educating children ages 5-14 in the Vietnamese language, traditions, and culture.  We provide a language immersion educational platform for quick, young minds, while emphasizing the values of Vietnam, including hard work, studiousness and respect for ones elders.

Although we teach in the tradition of St. John the Baptist de La Salle, willing students of all faiths are welcome.

Classes are held on Saturdays from 9:00 AM to noon, from September to May.  The school’s Principal is Sister Thérèse Đê Tạ Thị Thoa, LS.S.
